Rosette Strain Gauges

The rosette strain gauges used on the bridge are HPI HBWR-35-125-6-VR which have a gauge length of 0.125”. A set of strain rosettes can reveal required information about the performance of the unique design of the gussetless connection. This model is a waterproof design with the purpose of measuring live-load stress across of 2D plane. There are a total of 16 of these attached to the gussetless plates on the bridge. Five of them are located in the top chord gussetless connection, five in the bottom cord gussetless connection, two in the gussetless connection at the bottom of the tower on each side, and two in the middle of the tower.
